CHRISTENE IS AN ENTREPRENEUR,
WRITER, + ADVISOR.
As a lifelong storyteller, Christene knows it’s a deep sense of curiosity + wonder that can bring a style, voice, or bold idea to life. By contextualizing things like design, memory, and identity, she's navigated a career sparking new pathways for discovery + connection. When she isn’t writing, she's helping other founders and future-facing teams tap into their own unique stories + roadmaps—unlocking fresh ideas and perspectives with the power to move and shape us, through birth, growth, and change.
Christene spent 15 years as a co-founder of
Refinery29, conceiving and building it from a startup into an award-winning global entertainment leader that helped pioneer a new age of women’s content + digital storytelling. In 2019, R29 was acquired by Vice Media Group. She has also served as a strategic advisor for such innovators as Cerebelly, Yola Mezcal, and Thrive Market.
In 2022, Christene launched A Tiny Apt., a weekly newsletter that invites readers to think about space, their taste + style, and the circular economy—aka: second-hand everything—differently. Three months post launch, Substack named A Tiny Apt. a must-read, prompting thousands to subscribe. Christene lives in Brooklyn with her family, where she writes, thrifts, and hosts occasional sidewalk sales.
